The broad-scale adoption of an online collaborative process for trade deal management is a good idea whose time is long overdue. Given that there will always be some level of competing interests and objectives between retailers and vendors, the more open and transparent the process, the more efficient trade dollars can be spent for the collective good of the consumer.

Given our ecomonomic climate, this process needs to be ruthlessly efficient, taking scarce resources, vendor spending, retailer display and feature space, and applying them to drive consumer value.
