A collection of business books (and perhaps a few personal ones too) that I have founds to be very helpful.
Tuned In: Uncover the Extraordinary Opportunities That Lead to Business Breakthroughs
By Craig Stull, Phil Myers, David Meerman Scott
This book was written by the senior leaders of the Pragmatic Marketing seminars, of which I am an alum, and offers a framework for narrowing in on what really matters in bringing new products to market.
Jack: Straight from the Gut
By Jack Welch, John A. Byrne
As the title suggests, Jack Welch is a pretty straight shooter. Here is a business legend that was able to move mountains in a very large and complex organization. I found his stories to be entertaining and pretty useful in my day-to-day life.
Retail: the Art and Science – The Fundamentals of Retail Buying
By Daniel J. Moe
From a brand perspective, it’s always helpful to know how your retail buyer is managing their business. This book is written by Dan Moe, a seasoned retail industry buyer currently with Best Buy (a DemandTec customer). This book was required reading at DemandTec, and Dan came in for a day to share his stories with the company. A fairly quick read, and worth the time.
